How hard is it for Ginebra to play without Eric "Major Pain" Menk? Especially when they are dealing with Alaska, whose players are way too big than the Kings. Eric was sidelined last night in the Semifinals Game 2 when he re-injured himself with a pulled groin and veteran guard Celino Cruz, also in the injured list when he twisted his ankle. Both players, were seen in casual wear last night. The answer, very hard. It was difficult to watch, really. They lost, 90-82 and the series is now at 0-2.
Although, i must commend the other players who stepped up last night and tried really hard to help the team win. Kevyn White, yeah, the guy wearing jersey number 5, Ginebra's rookie, contributed 7pts, that includes a 3-pointer. Then after a number of attempts, Jayjay Helterbrand finally made it, fired a 3-pointer. Other players who almost sparked were, Mark Caguioa, Ronald Tubid, Willie Wilson, Cyrus Baguio, Billy Mamaril, and Sunday Salvacion. Too bad the team, despite all efforts didn't make it, leaving the crowd shocked and glued to their seats. What more can we say but, "bawi na lang next game" (let's get even next game) and, "never say die!" Hopefully, tomorrow, Ginebra is able to finally get that supernatural favor from Him. Til next entry, fellas!

Keep The Faith! Nagsisimula Pa Lang Ang Laban!
I have been closely monitoring blogs, article news, writeups in the past few days, especially after the historical Quarterfinals Series where Ginebra dethroned Talk N Text last February 7, 2009.
Sabi ng mayabang kong katext (kilala mo na kung sino ka), "O, arangkada ng Ginebra walang nakaawat o! 6th man ang crowd e, sira ang laro ng Walk N Text, magtambol na lang sila!" Sabi pa ng isa, "O, di pa 100% ang Fast and the Furious nyan ha!" And there would be endless stories to share, PAG NANANALO ANG GINEBRA. True! At pag talo? Walang naguusap sa facebook, busy ang status ng mga online sa ym, walang nagti-tweet, at aminin nyo, walang naghahapunan. Even on papers! Walang bumibili ng dyaryo, walang masulat, hmmn, tanong ko yan kahapon e. Dahil ba, yung mga writers, kabarangay din? Ü
And last Wednesday, after 5 grueling games, our beloved Barangay Ginebra Kings has been defeated by the Alaska Aces. Ouch! It's really painful not to see them win but it's much painful to see them fight eventhough you see them battered by their own weak bodies. Hindi na Alaska ang kalaban nila kundi sarili nila. Kita yung pagod sa kanila, esp kay Eric who got himself re-injured, pulled groin, then Celino, JC, Willie, Cyrus, Ronald, Enrico, lahat sila. But you know, this is when WE LOVE OUR TEAM THE MOST. Pag nadedehado. Because we know, this is when we are stronger, this is when we roar louder, this is when we stand up, to fight, to continue the battle. Nagsisimula pa lang ang laban. And knowing Ginebra, babawi kami, lalaban kami.
And before I end this entry, my eyes now swelling with mist, or, is it tears? Uhm. Well, i just can't help smiling every time i would remember Mark's performance last game. 23pts and he's still not 100% okay. And Kevyn White who fired two three-points! I just go speechless.
So, kabarangay, pagkatapos mong basahin to, offer a short prayer, as always, lagi nating ginagawa to, pagpray natin ang team.
Go ginebra! Fight, ginebra, fight! We never say die!

Hello Semis!
(from Jamships blog)
It has always been hard when you have an unhealthy lineup. Most especially when your team is Caguioa-less and Helterbrand-less and hefty Junthy Valenzuela is sidelined by an injury. Good thing it's not always just about having healthy and fit players, but sometimes, you know, having an ALLY is really what everthing is all about. If you keep on believing in Him, if you never lose your faith, if you never say die.. If, everything seems to be hopeless but you just keep your faith, you keep your fingers crossed, you keep cheering and fighting for what you believe in, then, there's a prize. And that is what we, the fans of the most popular team in town is holding on to. We started strong, first quarter of the deciding Quarterfinals Game 5 match versus Talk N Text Tropang Texters, the players never lose their focus on their gameplan, they keep their presence of mind. Each rebound means everything. Every basket attempt is like one precious ball of prophecy. Until the last 2 minutes of the game, the GinKings keep their composure, they played with their hearts, they played it big. And that is why from 0-1, 0-2, 1-2, 2-2, we now move forward to Semifinals of the 2010 KFC-PBA Philippine Cup. Good job JC Intal, Erik Menk, Sunday Salvacion, Ronald Tubid, Enrico Villanueva, Willie Wilson, Kevyn White, Celino Cruz, Billy Mamaril, Rich Alvarez, Doug Kramer, Cyrus Baguio! We are truly proud of you!

Undermanned Ginebra trips Coca Cola Tigers last December 25, 2009 as the KFC Philippine Cup continues. The game was held at the jam-packed Cuneta Astrodome.
Ronald Tubid, Cyrus Baguio and JC Intal led the team to winning the game as they forced a tie with Purefoods at 4th place with 9-6 win-loss record (Alaska 11-2, San Miguel 12-3, Talk N Text 10-5).

To the cheering fans' delight, JC Intal made 2 slam dunks, one two-handed, and the other a one-hand power dunk.
Ginebra Coach Jong Uichico, in his interviews, is very happy to see that his wingmen delivers especially during this time that his topgunners Mark Caguioa, Jayjay Helterbrand and Junthy Valenzuela are not playing. They are very optimistic to improving their record, in the coming games by January.
Although not feeling well, Erik Menk and Kevyn White still played and showed good defense.

Purefoods Trips Ginebra, KEVYN WHITE, Almost A Hero
Roger Yap led the Purefoods TJ Giants to trip Ginebra off its winning streak as the 2nd Round of 2010 KFC Philippine Cup Elimination Series continues, 88-81. It was an off night for the Kings if I may say, as Ronald Tubid, hero of their last two games was not seen action, finishing 8 points only.
PJ Simon contributed 14 points to help the TJ Giants snatch the win from the injury-infested Barangay Ginebra Kings.
Kings Rookie KEVYN WHITE, who scored 10 points in the 3rd quarter made his presence felt as he gave the entire barangay crowd a lift, in spirit, in morale and made every Giant's confidence skip down to zero. During his amazing moments, his closest in the team, Jayjay Helterbrand and Erik Menk were seen with big smiles and skipping and jumping in happiness, too. Mark Caguioa said that they pushed to give more minutes to their promising rookie as they know what he can do in the hardcourt.
Junthy Valenzuela is said to play next week and Celino Cruz in 3 weeks.
The scores:
PUREFOODS 89 - Yap R. 21, Simon 14, Yap J. 13, Maierhofer 9, Pingris 9, Reavis 8, Allado 8, Artadi 7, Timberlake 0, Salvador 0, adducul 0.
GINEBRA 81 - Baguio 19, White 14, Mamaril 10, Tubid 8, Menk 8, Abbarientos 7, Intal 6, Wilson 3, Salvacion 3, Alvarez 2, Villanueva 1.

Ginebra Time Tomorrow!
Hello fellas! :) Ginebra time tomorrow! :) I know we are all excited to see the team again. But also, a part of us will always be worried about the players not able to play tomorrow. First is Willie Wilson, team's power forward as he was called against for a flagrant foul penalty 2 on their game vs Coke last November 27. Second is Mr. Fearless himself Ronald Tubid, who in their last game contributed 33 big points -- he mentioned he has a dislocated finger then, and although I have not talked to him about this, I am thinking that that could be the reason for him to rest for one game. And then thirdly, Celino Cruz who hurt himself in the wrist when he dived to save a ball on their game vs Talk N Text Tropang Texters. I am really worried about the team, Mark Caguioa is out, Jayjay Helterbrand is not playing, and veteran Junthy Valenzuela is out for the entire conference. Let us continuously pray for the team. People expected to show exceptional ball skills are Cyrus Baguio, JC Intal, Billy Mamaril, Rich Alvarez and rookie Kevyn White who will be given more minutes with the absence of Celino Cruz.

Alapag VS Alapag-White Tomorrow
The Barangay Ginebra Kings will face defending Champions Talk N Text tomorrow at 7:00 pm, at the Araneta Coliseum as the Elimination Round of the 2009 KFC-PBA Philippine Cup continues.
Crowd-favorite Ginebra will continue to miss the services of top-gunner Mark Caguioa and Sunday Salvacion who are still sidelined by their injuries (knee and calf respectively). However, cagers to watch out for are Jayjay Helterbrand, Cyrus Baguio, Ronald Tubid, JC Intal and big men Erik Menk, Willie Wilson and Billy Mamaril.
Both teams are halted by Alaska (TNT) and Sta. Lucia (BGK) so we could be expecting some hard-hitting and breath-taking action. Ginebra rookie Kevyn White is also expected to be showing some exciting perimeter shots as he has been of good offensive standing in their games vs Smart Gilas (that includes a buzzerbeater), Rain Or Shine Elasto Painters (7pts) and Sta. Lucia Realtors (4pts). He will also be playing against his Uncle Jimmy Alapag's team, Talk N Text, this sure is one exciting game we wouldn't wanna miss.
